4GB以上のメモリを積んで64bitOSを使う4GB積んで4GB認識された

それでは個別に見ていこう。
  • グラフィックチップのNVIDIAからATIへの変更
ここ数年、NVIDIAチップを使ってたが、最近はATIのほうが面白そうなので乗換え。


インストール時に、HDMI絡みで予想外のことが起きて悩んだが、解決したので良し。


今後PCゲームの動作について調査していく。

  • 画面をVGAから出し、音声だけHDMIを使う
今までは、サウンドカードからSPDIF出力を使っていたが、せっかくだからHDMIで音声出力をしようと思い、HDMIケーブルでAVアンプに接続した。

しかし、Catalystをインストールすると再起動後に画面が出なくなってしまうという問題が発生。

結構悩んだが、結局、HDMIケーブルを接続しているとAVアンプがモニター1として設定されてしまうということが判明。

解決策として、HDMIケーブルを抜くと画面が移るので、抜いた状態で「画面の解像度」を開き、「複数のディスプレイ」で「表示画面を複製する」と設定してあげることでVGA側の画面が映るようになった。

ポイントとして、どうやらHDMIは音声のみ出力することはできないらしく、HDMI側のモニターを無効にしてしまうと音声も出せなくなってしまうらしい。

また、起動中にケーブルを抜き差しすると、動的にON/OFFが切り替わるようだ。

手元にある音声ファイルを利用して、DolbyDigitalでサラウンド出力が行えることも確認した。

  •   脱サウンドブラスター
今まではEAXの為の保険としてサウンドブラスターシリーズを使っていた。

だが、Vista以降になってOpenALなどに変わってきたので、もうサウンドブラスターでなくてもいいのではないかと思い始めた。

今後対応ソフトを買うことも無いと思うので、サウンドブラスターに依存しない方向で考えていく。

  • microATXで済むか試す
今まではグラフィックボードとサウンドカードを挿していたが、今回はどちらもオンボードを利用するので、今は何もボードを挿していない。

もし、このまま運用で困らなければ、今後はmicroATXを買えば良いということになる。

そうなれば、「マザーの値段が安い」「ケースを小さくできる」というメリットがある。

  • 4GB以上のメモリを積んで64bitOSを使う
これからは64bitOSが主流になっていくだろうと思い、今回導入することにした。

インストールは問題なく、今のところソフトも間に合っている。

メモリは4GB中4GB認識された。
